What I've Learned About Building a Community Through Events!

I'm Phoenix Masked, a content creator and artist who's been creating for over a year now! If there's one thing I'd like to be known for, it's being someone that can build a strong community that has fun together through activities and events that fit their interests!

Now, why do I care about this? It all goes back to how I started doing art in the first place. I enjoyed roleplaying and collaborative storytelling. It was natural that I picked up art to better express my ideas! Now while creating art is already a fun hobby, I'm honestly most inspired when I create for a group or community. There's an implicit sense of trust and confidence when it comes to sharing your art or writing, something that can be harder to find in the wider art community on various platforms.

I know I was scared for years to be public with my work, only ever sharing privately with friends. These fears aren't unfounded either, especially with today's virality and algorithm-based visibility, something can can be distressing on multiple levels. Sometimes your work reaches the wrong audience. Other times no one sees it at all. This can be especially hard for those who are working to build a sense of confidence in their work, as well as finding their people who just get it.

While I'm much more comfortable now, I'd like to continue to help foster a kind community that can make that journey for others a little easier. From my experience in hosting and facilitating events, I've been able to see a real positive impact 💜 If anything, it's taught me that as light-hearted and silly as these may be, they're something that can really bring a community together and often lead to some completely unexpected results. Truly, I'm always so impressed to see how they change & what they create!

I still feel like there's a lot to learn but if anything... these past months have been truly inspiring and I look forward to seeing where we go next ^^
